Autopoiesis and communication in digital ecosystems: the meeting simulation

Abstract

Both social and digital networks share the concept of ‘ecosystem’, which allows us to pay particular attention to the qualitative leap produced by the ‘technologies of connection’. It is in the meta-communicative dimensions (‘consciousness’, ‘semantic capacity’, the subjective input constituted by the experience of the communicating agents) that we can distinguish between authentically human communication and communication produced by means of digital devices endowed with artificial intelligence.
