From science fiction to reality: simulations, drones and super-soldiers for the wars of the future

Abstract

Tomorrow’s wars will be increasingly technological, much more similar to those imagined in speculative fiction exercises. Armed drones controlled by the mind of soldiers or governed by an AI capable of taking deadly decisions, bio-hybrid weapons and super soldiers, genetically manipulated to decrease the feeling of tiredness, hunger, cold and resist radiation and chemical attacks. This paper will explore the latest technological innovations and try to compare them with the existing filmography.
