Abstract

While the movement to virtualization has completely transformed the way human
beings exist and define themselves as societies, it has also revolutionized design-making
through innovative techniques and tools such as augmented and virtual reality and additive
manufacturing, which have redefined the entire process from conception to realization
and fruition of a good or service. At the same time, the progressive integration of IoT into
objects, and wearable devices in particular, has exponentially increased their expressive
capabilities, abandoning the meaning of end result of the creative process. Such artifacts,
become tools to monitor, measure and understand the perpetual movement of the world

and of individuals, and are configured as creatures generated through computer and para-
metric codes, that represent the essence of the project itself. The aim of the contribution, is

to define the hybrid approach born from the intersection of design and new technologies,
in which physical reality and digital virtuality are merged.
