Abstract

The belief that machines are destined to replace people corresponds to a cultural stereotype lacking any match in reality. If we look at the data on employment indices, we find that, in the face of massive use of automation processes, there is a growing demand for the skilled, highly qualified workers who are able to perform control tests on machines, thanks to intellectual and discernment faculties that robots do not have. While it is true that automation processes will result in the disappearance of many positions, causing many people to lose their jobs, it is also true that new demands will develop for AI side-by-side, such that innovative occupational figures will become indispensable, which will be possible to fill only after following appropriate training courses. Beginning with the idea that in the future it will be increasingly common to see mixed teams at work, in which different interacting parties will cooperate to achieve the same goals, the thesis of empathic leadership is proposed, by which it is intended to place the person at the center of the relationship with AI.
