Abstract

The convergence between cinema and video games has evolved, marked by adaptations, crossmedia efforts, and shared techniques. Yet, to redefine the future of this relationship, focusing on creativity and immersion is essential. This article critically examines the inflationary use of “creativity” and “immersivity”, exploring their intertwined roles in shaping audience engagement and challenging conventions. By rethinking these terms, we may open pathways toward more innovative media experiences beyond current marketing-driven formulas.
